Stuart Park Primary School has for many years had a partnership with the Darwin Language Centre which supports our school in our language program. We have two Indonesian teachers who teach the Indonesian language and culture to Years 4-6 students.
Pak Sahar and Ibu Enggar work together in classes to support the students as they learn basic Indonesian language, use this in conversations that they can use while in Indonesia and develop knowledge and understandings of some aspects of the Indonesian people and their varied culture.
The school also works closely with Darwin Middle School so that our students can continue their language pathway In Indonesian when they move into Year Seven at that schoo and then again as they move into Year 10 at Darwin High School.
Other Language Classes
Students who wish to learn another language also have the option of attending after school classes at the nearby Darwin Language Centre in Ludmilla. A wide range of languages are available at the Centre and a bus picks children up from our school soon after school finishes and parents can then pick up their children at the Centre later in the afternoon.
